Overview

The SunSpot 2 concentrates the output of a 200-watt, UVA-enhanced mercury short-arc lamp into a single flexible light guide, delivering more than 18 W/cm² of UVA to the bond line. That intensity cures most photo-initiated chemistries in one to a few seconds, without the ovens, racks, or thermal cycling that heat-sensitive electronic assemblies can't tolerate.

A broad 275–650 nm spectrum makes it compatible with adhesives that require UVB/UVC or visible content, not just narrow-band UVA, the reason many labs keep an arc system alongside their LED lines. Output is adjustable from 25–100% via the front control knob and light-guide depth, and lamp power is regulated to ±1.0% for repeatable dose.

An integral electronic timer and shutter, foot-pedal trigger, and support for multi-pole light guides make it equally at home in a lab or on a production bench. Quick-change lamp cartridges and filtered dual-fan cooling keep uptime high.

Key Features

High-intensity UVA
>18,000 mW/cm² at the light-guide tip, among the highest output in a benchtop arc source, for the fastest cures on demanding chemistries.
Regulated, repeatable dose
Lamp power regulated to ±1.0% and adjustable 60–100%, with an integral timer for consistent, validated exposure part after part.
Broad 275–650 nm spectrum
Covers UVB/UVC through visible, cures surface-inhibited and dual-cure adhesives that single-wavelength LEDs can't.
Shutter, timer & foot pedal
A mechanical shutter with electronic timer and included foot-pedal trigger keeps the lamp warm between cures for instant, hands-free exposure.
Multi-pole light guides
Split one lamp across up to four balanced output legs to cure multiple zones simultaneously from a single system.
Built to run
Quick-change lamp cartridge, filtered dual-fan cooling, and full protection (surge, hot re-strike, over-temp) for reliable production duty.

SunSpot 2 FAQ

Which part number do I order?
UV1853 for 100–120 VAC mains, UV2132 for 200–240 VAC. The unit is factory-configured for one input, connecting to the wrong voltage can damage it, so confirm your supply before ordering.
How is it different from an LED system?
The SunSpot 2's arc lamp covers a broad 275–650 nm spectrum, so it cures chemistries that need UVB/UVC or visible content, not just single-wavelength UVA. It's the right choice when your adhesive datasheet calls for broadband output.
Can I cure more than one spot at a time?
Yes, multi-pole light guides split the output into up to four balanced legs from a single lamp. The manual covers balancing procedure for even output across poles.
What's the lamp life and warm-up?
Typical lamp life exceeds 2,000 hours. Allow 1–2 minutes to warm up to full output; a hot lamp needs 2–5 minutes to cool before it will re-strike.
How do I pick the light guide and exposure?
Your adhesive datasheet lists the wavelength and dose it needs; match the light-guide diameter to your spot size and set exposure to hit that dose. Our US-based team can help you spec it on a quote request.
